مقدمه

Introduction: Considering the lack of studies that prospectively assessed the post-diagnosis nutritional status in gastric cancer (GC), in the present study, we aimed to assess the prognostic factors of three-year survival of patients with GC.

روش کار

In the present prospective study, all histologically confirmed GC patients who were admitted to the Imam Reza Hospital, Tabriz, Iran from September 2016 to October 2019 were included. All patients were followed up every 6 months for 3 years. The overall survival (OS) was calculated from the time of diagnosis to the date of death or last visit. Information regarding tumor–node–metastasis (TNM) classification was retrieved from clinical records, follow-up data, and endoscopic reports of each patient.

نتایج

In the present study, 302 patients with GC were included. The mean age of patients was 67.39±12.04 years. The median OS was 11.00 (95% CI: 80.03, 13.96) months. 41.7% of patients were in the late stages of gastric cancer and 29.31% of patients get no treatment. Cox proportional hazard regression indicated that the TNM stage, and treatment status were significantly associated with the hazard of death in GC patients.

نتیجه‌گیری

The result of the present prospective study indicated that the TNM stage, and treatment status were independently associated with survival rate in patients with GC.
